Tea Docent says ”Ah, Formosa, the “Beautiful Island”. Fog and cool, sea breezes make Taiwan’s mountains ideal for growing subtle, enchanting Oolong, a semi-oxidized tea. The floral aromas and light golden liquor of Oolong Tea hint at the many pleasures of drinking it. Oolong heals the body as well as the spirit: it may aid in weight loss by lifting the metabolic rate, and it is believed to lower stress hormones when enjoyed daily.
Oriental Beauty originally named by the Queen of England during the 18th century paved the way for today’s further crafted Eastern Beauty. Coming from the mist covered mountains in Taiwan the leaves are smaller and fuller with a soft downy on the core of the leaf, which is very unique. Completely hand processed this tea and curled tighter than her sister and has a sweet honey fragrance with bright crystal clear amber/orange liquor. When Oriental Beauty was given her name it was because it was served to the Queen very non-traditionally in a crystal glass with the leaves allowed to “dance” and open freely finally laying at rest on the bottom while she enjoyed it."
