Keemun is considered one of the two or three best teas in the world. Beautiful twisted thin leaves, distinctive fragrance, poetically described as a wilting black rose or less poetically as “toast hot from the oven” either way very rich and COMPLEX!
It is the only sub-variety of the tea plant in which an essential oil called myrcenal is found. Myrcenal also occurs Bay Leaves, and it is believed it is this oil that gives Keemun its indescribable sweetness.
Hao Ya “A” is the best of the best with a perfectly shaped leaf that is as black as onyx and liquor so complex and sweet. Suggesting cream and sugar with this black would never occur to you.
Hand-crafted in limited quantities, with many Keemun Aficionados will make a reservation to ensure it will be among their treasures each year.
